Yard and Warehouse Operative Opportunity

McMahons Builders Providers, a leading supplier of building materials, is seeking a skilled Yard and Warehouse Operative to join their team in Derry. With a rich history spanning over 190 years, the company offers a wide range of products catering to builders, DIY enthusiasts, and homeowners.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Receiving and offloading products and building materials delivered to the site.
  2. Picking customer orders and assisting with loading customer vehicles.
  3. Loading trucks with products in advance of delivery to customers.
  4. Maintaining the highest standards of housekeeping in the warehouse, yard, and shop.
  5. Collaborating with branch staff, including transport and internal sales, to ensure efficient and timely customer service.
  6. Assisting with stock management, including stock taking and cycle counting.
  7. Supporting the operation of a busy branch as required.
  8. Adhering to company policies and procedures from an operational and health and safety perspective.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will possess:

  1. Knowledge and experience of building materials, preferably in a yard or warehouse environment.
  2. Experience with driving forklifts and a full clean driving license.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. A positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Basic computer literacy.
