Yard and Warehouse Operative Opportunity

McMahons Builders Providers, a leading supplier of building materials, is seeking a skilled Yard and Warehouse Operative to join their team in Derry. As a key member of the branch, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the warehouse and yard.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Unload products and building materials from delivery vehicles and store them in the warehouse.
  2. Pick and pack customer orders, ensuring accurate and efficient loading of customer vehicles.
  3. Load trucks with products in advance of delivery to customers, maintaining a high level of organization and efficiency.
  4. Contribute to maintaining a clean and safe working environment in the warehouse, yard, and shop.
  5. Collaborate with branch staff, including transport and internal sales teams, to provide excellent customer service.
  6. Assist with stock management, including stocktaking and cycle counting, to ensure accurate inventory levels.
  7. Perform other tasks as required to support the operation of the branch, adhering to company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of building materials is advantageous.
  • Experience in a yard/warehouse environment and operating forklifts is essential.
  • A full clean driving license is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Basic computer literacy.
