Job Summary

THC Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Underwriter to join our team. As a Senior Underwriter, you will be responsible for assessing consumer credit applications and making informed decisions about lending.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of underwriters, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent customer journeys.
  • Underwrite all customer types and score bands within defined risk policy guidelines, ensuring compliance with company criteria and credit policy.
  • Maintain an acceptable level of bad debt by aligning underwriting with each proposal, ensuring service level agreements are fully met.
  • Identify potential fraudulent applications and liaise with other departments to investigate and resolve issues.
  • Assess customers' ability to repay loans, making credit decisions in line with company criteria and credit policy.

Requirements

  • Experience in consumer motor finance lending, with a strong understanding of lending application processes.
  • Ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines, with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in leading and managing a team of underwriters.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
