Job Title: Early Years Practitioner

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join our team at Midlothian Council. As an Early Years Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to children in our Early Learning and Childcare settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hold a minimum of a practitioner-level qualification, such as HNC Childhood Practice or SVQ Social Services (Children & Young People), or equivalent qualifications that meet the requirements for SSSC registration.
  • Have a strong understanding of child development and learning principles.
  • Be able to work effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to provide a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to maintain accurate records and reports.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
  • Forest school/Nature nurture training.
  • Mental health first aid.
  • Food hygiene.
