Electro-Mechanical Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electro-Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Reed. As an Electro-Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our electro-mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Health and Safety: Adhere to health and safety standards in all activities and promote safe working practices.
  • Maintenance Schedules: Deliver periodic and condition-based preventative maintenance schedules for all electro-mechanical equipment to maintain high levels of reliability and maximize efficiency.
  • Reactive Service and Repair: Conduct 1st Level reactive service and repair work, diagnosing issues promptly and efficiently, utilizing OEM/third-party support where required.
  • Engineering Expertise: Work with operations teams to offer engineering expertise in the design and delivery of improvements for electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Risk Assessments: Undertake risk assessments for all electro-mechanical equipment in liaison with the Engineering Manager.
  • Professional Development: Maintain professional competence, including training and development as appropriate.
  • Procedure and Maintenance Records: Ensure procedure and maintenance records are maintained and audit technical support documentation for accuracy and availability.
  • Technical Spares and Consumables: Catalogue and audit technical spares and consumables, making recommendations and undertaking spares ordering as required.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Minimum of Level 3 qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • Understanding of PLC Programming: Understanding of PLC programming logic.
  • Electrical and Mechanical Aptitude: Strong Electrical and Mechanical aptitude, with knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic circuits and controls.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer Literacy: Computer literacy, encompassing current MS Office Applications.
  • Experience: Experience in high-quality and high-volume environments, with secure and safe systems of working (highly desirable).
  • CMMS Systems: Experience with CMMS systems (desirable).
