Locomotive Maintenance Engineering Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Locomotive Maintenance Engineering Technician to join our team at FDR. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet of commercial freight trains.
Key Responsibilities:- Carry out maintenance, repair, overhaul, modification, and fault-finding activities on diesel locomotives
- Lead engineer for contracts, projects, or tasks as necessary to support operational performance
- Update SAP system to ensure availability of parts
- Input data into the locomotive history tracking system
- Assist other engineers on the team
- Conduct audits in line with Company quality management standards and processes
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Act as a role model of Quality, Health, and Safety, and Environmental Policies
- Work in line with legislation and rail industry requirements
- L3 Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent
- Driving license (B/ B1)
- Demonstrable history of working effectively with diesel engineering technology and associated systems and controls
- Self-starter and a team player, able to coach and help others to get the job done to a high-standard
- Strong communicator with ability to build relationships across the organisation
- Logical, analytical, and objective approach to problem solving and fault diagnosis
- High level of professionalism and strong sense of customer satisfaction
- Salary from £33,300 subject to experience
