Locomotive Maintenance Engineering Technician

We are seeking a skilled Locomotive Maintenance Engineering Technician to join our team at FDR. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet of commercial freight trains.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out maintenance, repair, overhaul, modification, and fault-finding activities on diesel locomotives
  • Lead engineer for contracts, projects, or tasks as necessary to support operational performance
  • Update SAP system to ensure availability of parts
  • Input data into the locomotive history tracking system
  • Assist other engineers on the team
  • Conduct audits in line with Company quality management standards and processes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Act as a role model of Quality, Health, and Safety, and Environmental Policies
  • Work in line with legislation and rail industry requirements
Requirements:
  • L3 Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent
  • Driving license (B/ B1)
  • Demonstrable history of working effectively with diesel engineering technology and associated systems and controls
  • Self-starter and a team player, able to coach and help others to get the job done to a high-standard
  • Strong communicator with ability to build relationships across the organisation
  • Logical, analytical, and objective approach to problem solving and fault diagnosis
  • High level of professionalism and strong sense of customer satisfaction
