Job Description

Birmingham City Football Club plc is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physiotherapist to join our Academy team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive physiotherapy program to support the health and well-being of Academy players.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and provide evidence-based treatment plans to address injuries and prevent future occurrences.
  • Collaborate with coaching staff and other medical professionals to ensure a holistic approach to player care.
  • Maintain accurate records of player injuries and treatment plans, and provide regular updates to coaching staff and management.
  • Provide pitch-side cover for Academy matches and training sessions, and respond to medical emergencies as needed.
  • Develop and deliver injury prevention and education programs for Academy players, coaches, and staff.
  • Contribute to the development of the Academy's sports science and medicine department, and participate in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent qualification.
  • Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • FA Intermediate Trauma and Medical Management in Football qualification.
  • Current DBS clearance and full UK driving license.
  • Experience working in a similar role within a football academy or similar environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with players, coaches, and other staff members.
  • Strong knowledge of musculoskeletal assessment and rehabilitation, and experience working with pediatric MSK injuries.

Working Environment:

The successful candidate will be based at the Knighthead Training and Academy Grounds, and will be required to work flexible hours to meet the demands of the role.
