p>Senior MEP Construction Manager (MEP) - Commercial Project Role

A reputable MEP contractor is seeking an experienced MEP Construction Manager to lead the delivery of the Mechanical construction elements of a commercial project on the north coast of Cornwall. The successful candidate will be responsible for programme, quality, and safety (HSE) and will report directly to the Project Manager/Director. This is a senior role and a key part of the project delivery team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure the work is constructed to meet Authority requirements and Contractors proposals;
  2. Completion and monitoring of the companies procedural documentation;
  3. Formulating, developing, and checking construction programmes and monitoring progress against these;
  4. Able to develop and integrate short-term programmes which drive the project and meet or exceed main programme;
  5. Coordination of contractors operations at preconstruction and construction stage;
  6. Proactively support and engage with the commercial and design teams;
  7. Keep Project Manager fully informed at all times;
  8. Ensure health & safety risk is eliminated or reduced in construction, ensure that the company safety systems are set up, implemented, and reviewed at all stages;
  9. Pro-active behavioural safety to be promoted and managed on site;
  10. Set up, implement and monitor quality and environmental systems;
  11. Review all design for buildability and long term durability;
  12. Support the projects CSR BREEAM/DREAM process and submission;
  13. Leading the construction team; including mentoring of those working in the team, driving good behaviours for the success of the project;
  14. To support and be familiar with own role and responsibility in respect of Business Continuity Planning.

Requirements:
  1. Experience in the safe and timely delivery of large scale (£50m plus) D&B projects as the construction manager;
  2. Experience in delivery of high quality projects;
  3. Good knowledge of building and MEP construction techniques and methodology;
  4. Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel & PowerPoint;
  5. Up to date on Safety legislation and the implementation of such legislation;
  6. Must hold a full UK driving licence for regular national travel;
  7. Hold CSCS card;
  8. Technical construction knowledge and commercial appreciation;
  9. Ability to manage, mentor and lead the team AND individual members of the construction team;
