MEP Construction Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced MEP Construction Manager to join our team on a commercial project in Cornwall. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of the Mechanical construction elements of the works, ensuring programme, quality, and safety are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure construction meets Authority requirements and Contractors proposals;
  • Monitor and complete procedural documentation;
  • Develop and check construction programmes, monitoring progress against these;
  • Coordinate contractors' operations at preconstruction and construction stages;
  • Support commercial and design teams;
  • Keep Project Manager informed at all times;
  • Ensure health & safety risks are eliminated or reduced;
  • Set up, implement, and monitor quality and environmental systems;
  • Review design for buildability and long-term durability;
  • Support CSR BREEAM/DREAM process and submission;
  • Lead the construction team, mentoring and driving good behaviours;
  • Manage programme on multiple levels, ideally with ASTA Teamplan knowledge;
  • Deliver large-scale D&B projects safely and on time;
  • Experience in high-quality project delivery;
  • Good knowledge of building and MEP construction techniques;
  • Understanding of design and procurement processes and contractual matters;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages;
  • Up-to-date on Safety legislation and implementation;
  • BREEAM/Sustainability/Environment knowledge and experience;
  • Hold a full UK driving licence for national travel;
  • Hold CSCS card, ideally Black Card;
  • SMSTS qualification;
  • SC and DV security clearance required;
  • MEP qualifications;
  • Technical construction knowledge and commercial appreciation;
  • Ability to supervise others to achieve tight deadlines;
  • Ability to manage, mentor, and lead the team and individual members;
  • Previous experience in a similar role.

This is a senior role and a key part of the project delivery team. The successful candidate will have experience in the safe and timely delivery of large-scale D&B projects as the construction manager.
