Job Title: Gallery Production Coordinator

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Gallery Production Coordinator to join our team at the Association of Academic Museums & Galleries. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the production and installation of exhibitions and events at our facility.

Estimated Salary: $50,000 - $70,000 per annum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Exhibitions Manager/Registrar in hiring, scheduling, and overseeing contract installation staff.
  • Maintains exhibition galleries, including daily artwork and equipment maintenance as needed.
  • Works closely with the exhibition team on the development and implementation of exhibition designs, including drafting design plans.
  • Coordinates with vendors and graphic designers as needed to produce and install exhibition graphics and labels.
  • Assists with the setup for public programming and related events, including audio/video set-up and general support.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience as a preparator, installer, art-handler, exhibition technician, or similar position in a museum, gallery, or arts organization.
  • Familiarity with exhibition design practices and a thorough knowledge of construction techniques and materials.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
