Senior FPGA Design Engineer

A highly skilled FPGA Design Engineer with expertise in Xilinx tools is sought by a leading company in surveillance and sensor systems design. The successful candidate will have a strong background in digital signal processing and experience in designing and developing FPGA code using Xilinx design tools. The role involves taking responsibility for digital signal processing, undertaking modelling, coding, verification and testing of new FPGA designs for the latest radar products. The ideal candidate will have a technical degree and experience in implementing signal processing algorithms, as well as an understanding of high-speed digital circuits for real-time systems. Additionally, experience in design verification and hardware testing is essential. Proficiency in software design using C/C++, Python or Rust is also required. Any exposure to radar, sonar or similar sensor systems is highly desirable. The company offers a competitive salary of £50-70k depending on experience, with hybrid working available. The successful candidate must be fully eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop FPGA code using Xilinx design tools
- Take responsibility for digital signal processing
- Undertake modelling, coding, verification and testing of new FPGA designs
- Lead on field trials of signal processing performance
- Design and develop high-speed digital circuits for real-time systems
- Verify and test FPGA designs
