Job Description

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Kitchen Support Professional to join our team at Simply Education Ltd. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a passion for food preparation, safety, and working in a fast-paced school environment.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Design Technology department by assisting with the delivery of food technology lessons, maintaining classroom resources, and ensuring a safe and smooth learning experience for students.

This hands-on position requires the ability to prepare ingredients, manage equipment, and maintain health and safety standards in the food technology classrooms. The ideal candidate will work closely with the teaching team to support students in developing practical skills, building confidence in the kitchen, and maintaining a clean and organized environment.

  1. Prepare ingredients and set up equipment for food technology lessons, ensuring everything is ready for practical sessions.
  2. Maintain the food technology classrooms, ensuring all tools, utensils, and resources are clean, organized, and in good working condition.
  3. Ensure that health and safety protocols are consistently followed, including food safety, hygiene, and kitchen safety procedures.
  4. Provide technical support to students during practical lessons, guiding them through cooking techniques and food preparation tasks.
  5. Monitor and manage inventory of food and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels and placing orders as necessary.
  6. Ensure that food preparation areas and equipment are cleaned and maintained to a high standard after each lesson.
  7. Dispose of food waste in accordance with school policies, ensuring sustainability practices are adhered to.
  8. Offer individual or small-group support to students during practical tasks, helping them develop their cooking skills and understanding of food technology.
  9. Assist with maintaining the department's health and safety records and ensuring compliance with regulations.
