Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to join our team at Wincanton. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of our warehouse operations, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project overtime hours for the team to ensure optimal productivity
  • Review future works and plan shifts accordingly to meet business needs
  • Deputise in the absence of the Operations Manager, liaising with suppliers, forecasting, and project expectations
  • Distribute workload between operatives to achieve effective output
  • Identify and escalate any site maintenance concerns to ensure a safe working environment
  • Lead by example, promoting a safety-first approach and actively engaging with warehouse staff
  • Identify resourcing requirements and escalate to senior management to ensure adequate staffing levels
  • Support Multitask Operatives with their duties and responsibilities as needed
  • Conduct regular 121s with MTOs, T&As, Return to Works, and actively support the onboarding process, including interviewing
  • Identify and implement innovative storage solutions to continuously improve warehouse processes
  • Liaise with stakeholders, clients, senior management, and contractors to ensure effective communication
  • Take an active role in Health and Safety, reviewing SSOW and SOPs to ensure they are up to date and accurate

Requirements

  • Experience, skills, and attributes:
  • Microsoft packages: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • MHE experience is desirable
  • Driving license is desirable
  • Previous warehouse experience is advantageous but not essential
  • Confidence to escalate concerns to senior management
  • Line management experience
  • Previous use of Manual Handling Equipment: LLOP, Counterbalance, Reach Truck, EPT
  • First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, Fire Marshall, spill responder, Incident controller, and banksman
