Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Network Maintenance Craftsperson - Mechanical to join our team at Northern Gas Networks. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for undertaking maintenance, repair, and installation activities on our pressure reduction installations and associated assets across the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the decommissioning, installation, commissioning, validation, modification, and repair of equipment and systems in accordance with relevant policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
  • Prepare reports and provide information, guidance, and advice to stakeholders and management on technical matters.
  • Undertake or participate in plant inspection and surveying, design, and costing of modifications to the network, prepare technical specifications, and estimates.
  • Maintain accurate records of activities to satisfy Maintenance and Capital Projects, NGN, third-party, and legislative requirements.
  • Work towards all perimetry requirements and procedures, including complex non-routine operations and routine operations affecting the NGN network.
Requirements
  • EUSR Gas passport
  • SCO 1, 2, and 4
  • 5 years' experience on gas distribution systems
  • TEM 2, 4
  • IOSH
  • Experience of working on pressure reduction equipment above and below 7 bar
  • Fault finding on pressure reduction installations and pre-heating systems
  • Repair and replacement of components
  • Completion of paperwork/systems for results and readings
  • Commissioning of equipment
  • Organisation of spares and materials may be required from time to time
  • Hazardous area experience
What We Offer
  • £42,354 per annum + bonus according to the operational incentive mechanism + van + overtime rising to £49,776 dependent on qualifying competencies at each stage
  • 41.25 hours per week over a 7-day variable work pattern, including standby. Rotas are given in advance and will include some night shifts although this would not be expected on a weekly basis
  • 25 days annual leave (plus recognised bank holidays and 2 half days over the Christmas period)
  • Statutory sick pay for first 7 calendar days then occupational sick pay
