Job Summary

The Specialist Chinese Chef will play a key role in supporting the Executive Chef Team and overseeing the production of Chinese cuisine for DO & CO. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate and inspire the team to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef Team to ensure consistent quality products are produced, adhering to DO & CO standards.
  • Design, develop, and present new menu designs as per customer needs in Chinese cuisine.
  • Manage and support the Kitchen team on a daily basis.
  • Instill a culture of job pride and ownership, motivating the team to adapt to stressful situations and deal with emergencies or last-minute changes to production.
  • Plan production to the daily schedule, ensuring exceptional DO & CO quality is maintained at its highest level with maximum efficiency, in accordance with DO & CO regulations as set by the Quality Assurance team.
  • Establish production of Chinese cuisine recipes that align with the set pricing structure and customer budget, controlling food costs.
  • Ensure operations adhere to all SOPs and relevant Critical Control Points, Health and Safety, Food safety, and all legal requirements.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure specifications are met on raw materials and finished products.
  • Maintain good working relationships with all DO & CO family members, partners, vendors, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Possess a passion for cooking authentic Chinese cuisine.
  • Previous experience as a Specialist Chinese Chef.
  • Possess a passion for food and working with fresh and high-quality ingredients.
  • Be an excellent leader with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Be well-presented, professional, and have a can-do, positive attitude that indulges in team success.
  • Have the ability to be a positive change champion for DO & CO, identifying key impact areas and priorities, and supporting change programmes and strategies to gain optimal results.
  • Be a clear and engaging communicator, with strong written and verbal English, and use a variety of methods to keep the team well-informed.
  • Have previous experience in a similar role or a high-end fresh food industry-related sector.
  • Hold the right to work in the UK.
