Role Overview


As a Health and Safety Manager at Gleeson Recruitment Group, you will have the opportunity to work with a highly recognized client in their Nuneaton facility on a 3 day per week basis for a 3 month contract.


Key responsibilities include providing advice and support to the team, supporting H and S improvements and initiatives to ensure a safe and healthy work environment across operations, and maintaining a safe working environment, minimising risks, and promoting a culture of safety across the organisation.


Key Responsibilities


• Keeping up to date with new HSE legislation and industry best practice


• Working with the Head of H and S to support the UK Operations teams in implementing the Health & Safety Management System


• Supporting the UK Operations teams in delivering task and area risk assessments when and as required


• Supporting the development of risk reduction and management strategies


• Collaborating with relevant departments to address any identified deficiencies promptly


• Implementing and managing a program of regular safety audits and inspections to assess the effectiveness of safety arrangements


Requirements


We are looking for the following skills and qualifications to be successful as a H&S Manager:


• NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent


• Experience in a warehouse / food manufacturing / logistics environment


• Previous experience working in a Health and Safety management role


• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word / Excel / PowerPoint)


• In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices applicable to warehouse / food manufacturing / logistics environment


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders


• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify hazards and develop effective safety solutions


• Ability to drive a culture of health and safety, and compliance


• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and influence others to prioritise safety


For this role, ideally you will have knowledge of ISO45001 and world class manufacturing (safety) standards and tools.
