Job Title: SEN Teacher for Mixed KS2 Class with Autism and Severe Learning Difficulties

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced SEN teacher to join our team at a large special needs school in Westminster, London. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a mixed KS2 class with Autism and Severe Learning Difficulties.

About the Class:

The class consists of 8 pupils who are all working at P levels. The majority of the children have additional medical and sensory needs as well as physical impairments. The successful candidate will be working alongside two friendly learning support assistants who know the children and the school procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching a mixed KS2 class with Autism and Severe Learning Difficulties
  • Developing social and communication skills in pupils
  • Working alongside two learning support assistants
  • Using the Early Years curriculum as a basis for teaching

Requirements:

  • Experience of teaching SEN pupils
  • Ability to use own initiative where required
  • Flexibility and patience when working with challenging pupils
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
