About the Role

Vetro Housing is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people aged 16-21 in various supported accommodation services throughout Newport and the surrounding areas.

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a genuine passion for supporting young people with complex needs. You will work closely with our team to ensure that young people build resilience and develop the skills necessary to manage their tenancy independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support young people with complex needs in a supported accommodation setting
  • Develop and deliver group work facilitation to promote independence and resilience
  • Build supportive relationships with young people and provide guidance and support as needed
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure that young people receive comprehensive support
Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience of working with young people in an accommodation setting
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to and build supportive relationships
  • A strong understanding of issues that disrupt progress towards independence, such as mental health, substance use, and self-harm
  • Demonstrable skills in developing and delivering group work facilitation
