Senior Estimator Opportunity at London Gatwick

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our dynamic team at London Gatwick Airport. As a key member of our commercial team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of our strategic aims and objectives through accurate and timely cost estimation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead early-stage cost estimation efforts, applying our standard processes and ensuring best practices are employed throughout all programmes.
  • Support the Lead Commercial Manager in producing and updating processes and procedures for estimating, benchmarking, and targeting costs.
  • Collaborate with project teams to apply our estimating and benchmarking processes, ensuring estimates and cost plans reflect value to the business.
  • Manage the utilisation of techniques to ensure estimates and cost plans are validated, cost modelled, and benchmarked against the external market.
  • Develop and maintain standard templates for presenting estimates and cost plans to stakeholders, ensuring comprehensive and clear engagement.
  • Ensure all estimates conform to a standardised cost breakdown structure, promoting alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Design and develop cost management structures to facilitate transparent cost comparisons throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering, construction, or business-related field.
  • Membership in a professionally recognised cost organisation, such as RICS, is highly desirable.
  • Experience as a Cost Planner/Senior Estimator on multi-year programmes/projects with a value typically above £50m in a relevant industry.
  • Experience in designing business processes for cost estimating, preferably within a high-performing or best practice organisation.
