Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Property Counsel to join our team as the Head of Legal (Property). You will report directly into the Premier Inn and Restaurants General Counsel (UK, Ireland, and Middle East) and sit on the Property Committee, working closely with the MD Property and his team to develop and deliver the property strategy.

You will be responsible for advising the CEO and his executive team on implications of Property decisions, including transactional, contentious, and non-contentious matters. You will also be the primary contact with external partners to build successful partnerships and effectively manage legal advice and associated spend.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years post-qualification experience specializing in property law (transactional) within England and Wales, gained as a director or Senior Associate in a law firm or holding a current Head of Legal, Senior Legal Counsel roles within a similar property base.

This is a first-in-role position at a senior level in a FTSE 100 company, offering a competitive salary of £125,000 per annum, plus a car allowance of £7,000 per annum, and a bonus up to 40% of base salary. In this role, you will also have the opportunity to work on high-profile property deals, ensuring risk to the business is minimized while delivering commercial objectives.

To succeed in this role, you must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex legal information clearly to a wide range of stakeholders.

You should also have extensive stakeholder management and engagement capability across all levels of the business up to Executive/Board level and external legal advisors, with the ability to build strong and sustained relationships to achieve better results.

The ideal candidate will be solutions-focused, pragmatic, and commercial, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and facilitate the implementation of creative solutions.
