Job Title: Fire Safety Manager - Midlands Transport Company

About the Role:

We are seeking a Fire Safety Manager to join our team at a Midlands-based transportation company. As a Fire Safety Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a property portfolio consisting of office premises, stations, and depots.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work with key internal stakeholders to develop and implement a Fire Safety Strategy.
  2. Support internal and third-party projects related to fire safety.
  3. Engage with Property Project Managers, Health, Safety & Compliance Manager, and Project Managers to ensure effective fire safety management.
  4. Plan and conduct fire risk assessment surveys and prepare reports on findings.
  5. Liaise with and oversee the completion of corrective actions and findings from fire risk assessment reports.
  6. Provide in-house Fire Prevention Manager (Fire Marshall) training to employees.
  7. Provide expert advice and support to develop arrangements relating to the management of emergencies from fires.

Requirements:

  1. Experience in a similar role, ideally within the rail/transport system.
  2. Membership of an appropriate Fire Safety Engineering Institution (preferred).
  3. BSc or BEng in Fire Safety Management.
  4. Excellent knowledge of UK relevant Fire Safety Legislation and British Standards.
  5. Ability to project manage tasks from inception to completion.
