Asset Management and Cloud FinOps Lead

We are seeking an experienced Asset Management and Cloud FinOps Lead to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, controlling, and protecting our organisation's IT assets throughout their entire lifecycle, from acquisition to final disposition. You will also manage Cloud Consumption budgets, track Cloud expenditure, and monitor Cloud spend against forecast to ensure we remain within allocated funds.

This is an evolved role for The People's Partnership as we move our in-house applications to the Microsoft Azure cloud and take a modern approach to bringing Cloud FinOps and traditional IT Asset Management together to provide a seamless and comprehensive view of technology infrastructure and expense.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding and experience of Cloud FinOps, excellent relationship management skills, and the ability to work autonomously. They will also be ITIL qualified and have proven experience using Azure-based tools and reporting capabilities to review and provide MI related to run costs, actual and projection.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Identifying and driving cloud cost optimisation and saving recommendations across the organisation
  • Implementing and operating tools and systems to measure and report on Cloud Consumption
  • Producing insightful reports that can be shared with and actioned by the Cloud Governance Committee
  • Planning, implementing, and owning the IT hardware, software, and licencing of assets
  • Ensuring an Asset register is maintained and up to date capturing all IT Asset related data
  • Carrying out regular IT asset audits to ensure that all IT assets are accurately recorded
