We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Buyer to join our General Merchandise division at Sainsbury's. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the buying function, translating category strategies into profitable growth initiatives for product ranges.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the buying function, translating category strategies into profitable growth initiatives for product ranges.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to guide the creation of customer-driven strategic visions, develop well-designed product ranges, and ensure the optimal balance between quality and price for own-label products.
- Manage pricing strategies, negotiate supplier funding, and work towards enhancing profitability through effective trading plans and joint business plans with suppliers.
- Lead and develop a high-performing buying team, executing range launches, promotions, and events while contributing to the financial management and success of the category.
- A seasoned professional with a strong commercial acumen and a proven track record in buying, preferably within a non-food omni-channel setting and preferably with upholstery experience.
- Ability to analyse complex data, understand market trends, and influence stakeholders at various levels.
- Leadership skills, strategic mindset, and adaptability in balancing short and long-term objectives.
