Job Summary

King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Education Manager to join our team. As a key member of the Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education (PGMDE) team, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery and quality of medical education and training across the trust.

Main Duties
  • Develop and implement strategies for the delivery and quality assurance of clinical placements and training programs for medical and dental doctors in training.
  • Work closely with the Kings College London Dean and Directors of Medical Education and Associate Directors to ensure effective delivery and quality assurance of clinical placements and training programs.
  • Develop and ensure the delivery of relevant induction programs for all undergraduate students and postgraduate medical and dental doctors in training.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external personnel associated with the training of junior doctors, including the Royal College Tutors, Divisional Managers, Educational Supervisors, and Speciality Leads.
  • Ensure the provision of high-quality induction programs at the Denmark Hill Site for all grades of medical staff, including Consultants, General Managers, and Executive Board members.
  • Manage the training and development of staff to ensure cover is available for all areas.
  • Ensure systems and control processes are in place to effectively manage all aspects of health and safety throughout the Department and implement any recommendations for improvements.
Requirements
  • Education to degree level with a Master's degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification in a relevant field.
  • Professional Management Qualification.
  • A demonstrably effective leader and manager with a track record of achievement in operational/service management and/or education/training/development.
  • Experience of working at a senior management level within the NHS.
  • Able to demonstrate the effective management of financial resources and the development of staff.
