Job Summary

Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Biomedical Scientist to join our Research and Innovation laboratory team. As a Senior Research Laboratory Scientist - Cell Therapy, you will play a crucial role in the processing of peripheral blood stem cells for life-saving transplantation and participate in Cell Therapy work as part of our Stem Cell Apheresis service.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct flow cytometry and qualitative and quantitative analysis of stem cells.
  • Organise product storage, shipment, and delivery.
  • Perform quality control procedures and ensure compliance with GCP, GMP, GLP, and health and safety regulations.
  • Take delegated responsibility for the supervision and training of junior laboratory staff.
  • Assist in the development of new methods and the implementation of new technology.

Requirements
  • HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with a minimum of 2 years post-registration experience.
  • Relevant laboratory experience of at least 12 months in the NHS or UK-based laboratory.
  • Knowledge of flow cytometry and tissue culture work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
