Senior Underwriter Opportunity

Fintellect Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join our client's team in Manchester. As a Senior Underwriter, you will play a key role in assessing and underwriting complex property finance cases, working closely with the wider Credit/Portfolio function to effectively manage credit and portfolio risk.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with Business Development Managers and the admin team to maintain relationships with introducers and ensure new and existing relationships are proactively maintained.
  • Collaborate with Business Development Managers on new deals to ensure that new enquiries are within appetite and meet credit policy.
  • Assess and underwrite new loan applications, conducting due diligence on borrowers and properties.
  • Ensure all data on back office loan processing systems is up-to-date and liaise with external providers as needed.
  • Provide excellent communication links between borrowers and external providers, following and keeping up to date with current regulatory requirements.
  • Work on additional projects for the business when required, ensuring that the business is performing efficiently and suggesting process improvements that will not detract from managing credit risk.
Requirements:
  • Experience as an Underwriter within Property Finance, dealing with complex Property Finance deals.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to work alone and in a team, and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, with a high attention to detail and good negotiating skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, with good technical knowledge and investigative skills to review borrower backgrounds.
