Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef Manager to join our team at Holroyd Howe, a leading contract caterer providing fresh and innovative food services to independent schools and colleges. As a Chef Manager, you will be responsible for leading our catering team to deliver exceptional customer service and high-quality food experiences to our students.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with our back-of-house team to develop well-balanced and nutritious menus that cater to diverse dietary requirements and preferences.
• Prepare and manage the catering budget, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining quality standards.
• Establish strong relationships with school Bursars, Head Teachers, and faculty to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate catering staff to ensure a high-performing team.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and quality control protocols to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
• Identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and improvement in menu offerings, service delivery, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Proven experience as a Chef Manager or equivalent in a high-volume, quality-focused environment.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
• Excellent financial management skills, with the ability to create and maintain budgets and drive commercial performance.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
• Meticulous organizational abilities and a high attention to detail.
• Empathetic, clear, and highly effective verbal and written communication.
• Ability to adapt to challenges and opportunities with a solution-oriented perspective.
• Excellent strategic thinking and critical reasoning skills.
