Lecturer in Operating Department Practice

We are seeking an inspirational individual with clinical experience to join our team as a Lecturer in Operating Department Practice. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for teaching and supporting students in the delivery of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
Main Responsibilities:- Design and deliver innovative, high-quality learning experiences that equip students with the skills, knowledge, and attributes required by employers.
- Contribute to the development of a sense of student community and act as a key contact for students.
- Assist with the operational delivery of courses/modules and address any emerging issues.
- Participate in student induction, pastoral care, and supervision.
- Plan and deliver the curriculum using appropriate media, including IT.
- Engage in critical reflection on practice and contribute to innovation in learning, teaching, and assessment.
- Provide effective feedback, support, and guidance to students.
- Supervise individual and group-based student activities, dissertations, industrial placements, and work-based projects.
- Good honours degree (UK or 1st Class) or equivalent professional qualification/experience in Operating Department Practice.
- Registration with a recognised regulatory body (e.g., HCPC or NMC).
- Significant clinical experience in operating theatres.
- Well-developed and current knowledge of critical, practical, and theoretical issues relevant to Operating Department Practice.
- Teaching experience, training, or supervising/mentoring students in higher education or a clinical environment.
- Knowledge of how information technology can support educational delivery and learning.
- Qualified ILS/ALS instructor and/or Moving and Handling instructor.
- Evidence of a contribution to knowledge in your field through publications or creative work.
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and connect with a range of stakeholders, including students and external clients.
- Ability to design and deliver transformative and innovative learning experiences.
- Excellent oral communication and presentation skills, demonstrating innovation and creativity.
- Excellent written communication skills, including report writing.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage conflicting demands and meet deadlines.
- Excellent team working skills and the ability to establish good working relationships.
- Ability to take initiative and be responsible for own workload.
- Ability to deal with administration tasks efficiently.
- Technological/digital proficiency.
We offer a flexible working environment, with some weekend and occasional travel required. You will be based in the Robert Winston Building, which provides excellent facilities and houses our operating theatre simulation and clinical rooms.
