Job Description

The University of Cambridge seeks an Academic Sociolinguist to join its Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages and Linguistics. This full-time position involves conducting broadly sociolinguistic research using science-based methodologies and contributing to the delivery of a distinctive intellectual programme in Linguistics and the Language Sciences at the Master's and PhD levels.

This role requires a strong formal linguistics background, with expertise in phonology, morphology, or syntax. The appointee will also contribute to undergraduate teaching and small group supervision, as well as participate in the administration of the activities of the Theoretical and Applied Linguistics Section (TAL).

A fluent command of English is essential for this position, which comes with a salary of approximately £60,000 per annum, commensurate with experience. Candidates should have relevant teaching experience and a record of excellence in research, commensurate with their career stage.
