About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Animal Genetics Improvement Specialist to join our team in Yorkshire. As a key member of our reproductive services team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional results to customer farms.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with a passion for agriculture and animal welfare. Your primary focus will be on building and maintaining professional relationships with teammates and customers, while working independently to identify opportunities and drive results as a team.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Visiting customer herds to heat-detect cows and analyzing computer records before artificially inseminating the appropriate animals.
  • Supporting the farm team to improve fertility within the herd, producing healthier and more productive cows to meet business goals.
  • Working with colleagues to provide outstanding customer service and animal health and welfare, increasing customer loyalty to Genus ABS' products and services.
  • Making informed decisions based on the genetic plan, animal behavior, and data available, identifying solutions and presenting recommendations to improve personal and team performance.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A full driving license.
  • Previous work experience working with livestock or large animals.
  • Availability to work on a rota basis, 7 days a week, including early mornings and evenings, with shifts planned at least one month in advance.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additionally, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including:
