Job Title: Highway Maintenance Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Highway Maintenance Manager to join our team at Coast Specialist Recruitment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day maintenance of highways, ensuring that all operations are carried out in accordance with DBFO requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the management of all highways operations and maintenance activities as required by the DBFO Company.
  • Proactively manage all operatives and contractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Ensure compliance with set budget, industry standards, and H&S regulations as required.
  • Develop a capable 'can-do' working culture to support a well-functioning and productive environment for the team.
  • Manage performance to encourage team and individual growth, including ensuring training provision, recruitment, and succession planning as required.
  • Implement changes to improve processes and procedures, adding value to the business.
  • Maintain an annual works programme compliant with the DBFO contract requirements, including delivery of all required surveys.
  • Manage day-to-day delivery works of day and night-time crews, including traffic management arrangements.
  • Ensure that works orders are raised on the asset management system and works are delivered within the intervention time-scales as per the contract.
  • Assist in managing administrative tasks, records, and registers are maintained on a regular basis, including response to complaints, abnormal loads, insurance claims, and other enquiries.
  • Liaise with the Deputy Road Manager and Operations Manager and their team to initiate and progress day-to-day works programme, assess work progress, and resolve work problems, including those of an administrative nature.

Requirements:

  • Highways asset management experience.
  • Highways design experience.
  • Highway construction project management experience.
  • Managing performance of an individual and the team.
  • Budget and cost management experience.
  • Procurement of contracts and contract management experience.
  • Stakeholder liaison and change management.
