Job Description: We are seeking a Heavy Plant Technician Lead to join our team at Speedy Hire. As a Heavy Plant Technician Lead, you will be responsible for the inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of plant hire equipment in the region.

The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to test and repair plant equipment to the highest standard, ideally gained within the hire industry or similar. They will also possess an NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds equivalent in a relevant discipline and have a technical/engineering background.

We offer a competitive salary of £38,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including 26 days holiday (plus bank holidays), life assurance, pension scheme, canteen facilities, and opportunities for training, development, and career progression.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To lead a team of engineers to perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on plant equipment.
  • To conduct inspections and testing of plant equipment to identify any defects or areas for improvement.
  • To work collaboratively with other engineers and teams to ensure effective communication and prioritisation of tasks.
  • To maintain accurate records and documentation of maintenance and repair activities.

Requirements:
  • Proven ability to test and repair plant equipment to the highest standard, ideally gained within the hire industry or similar.
  • NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Technical/engineering background is desirable.
  • Flexible approach to working hours.
  • Ability to support your business unit/team to deliver our ESG Strategy Decade to Deliver.
