Job Summary

The Finance Systems Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Finance Systems team in the Directorate of Finance at The University of Manchester. This role involves leading the Finance Systems 'business-as-usual' (BAU) team, including line management of 2 to 3 Finance Systems Administrators. The primary responsibilities of the team include providing systems support to users, overseeing systems processes at month ends, responding to requests and issues as they arise, report development and distribution, and ensuring systems-based control and reconciliations processes are in place and well managed, including reconciliation of inbound integrated systems data.

The Finance Systems Manager will also work with other members of the Finance Systems and IT teams to support and deliver ongoing systems developments, including working with test scripts and procedures, and providing training documentation. This role requires strong accounting and IT skills, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to deliver a high-quality and professional service, maintaining good working relationships across the University.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong finance systems expert with experience managing a complex finance system. The ideal candidate will have a strong team management and team player skills, willing to go the extra mile and able to work with minimal supervision.
