Offshore Operations Supervisor

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Offshore Operations Supervisor to join our team at OBM People. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing supervision for personnel and quayside activities, ensuring safe systems of work are in place and effective in accordance with legislation and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct supervision and control of all operational activity, third parties, contractors, and visitors on the allocated quayside(s).
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the navigation of the relevant sections of our Client's Integrated Logistics Management System (iLMS), ensuring you are up to date with publications and associated revisions, and that these are communicated and understood by staff as appropriate.
  • Control our Client's owned lifting equipment, including managing the maintenance and inspection of same, including the application of our Client's colour codes.
  • Control hired mobile cranes and operators on site, verifying operator, crane, and lifting equipment certification are valid.
  • Ensure accurate and timely lift data (number of lifts, weights) are being accurately captured for billing purposes.
  • Where non-compliance is identified, participate in the SID process and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Actively engage and communicate clearly and effectively with Management, Peers, Clients, Contractors, and Visitors, which demonstrates a collaborative and supportive approach.
  • Ensure personnel have the required information, instruction, and training in the effective application of Procedures, Risk Assessments, Permits to Work, and Lift Plans or any other documentation utilised as part of their tasks.
  • Raise our Client's AIR, LSI, and SID documentation, and advise our Client's Management where necessary.
  • Ensure the correct use of Cranes, Forklifts, and Lifting equipment as set out in legislative and procedural policy.
  • Manage quayside staff, undertaking return to work meetings, promoting staff welfare, conducting staff performance development meetings, and participating in the company.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in offshore operations, with experience in supervising personnel and quayside activities. They will also have a good understanding of safety procedures and protocols, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
