Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a co-educational all-through school for pupils with learning difficulties in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide support to class Senior LSA's and Teachers in preparing resources to meet the personalised learning intentions of allocated students. They will also provide 1:1 support under the supervision of the class Teacher for the delivery of skills-based learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the class Teacher in preparing resources to meet the learning needs of students.
  • Provide 1:1 support to students under the supervision of the class Teacher.
  • Work closely with the class Teacher to report on progress using an evidence-based approach.
  • Enable students to learn by understanding their learning goals and targets, practicing and learning new skills, and challenging them to be as independent as possible.
  • Be involved in the provision of all aspects of support necessary to ensure students' wellbeing and ability to function and engage in learning.
  • Understand and implement Safeguarding policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of GCSE qualifications in English and Maths.
  • Prior experience working in a similar role within an educational setting would be ideal.
  • Experience in care, police, school, social work, children's clubs are encouraged.
Desirable Skills:
  • Initiative to take proactive actions.
  • Ability to follow guidance and action feedback from other colleagues.
  • Organisational skills to manage tasks efficiently.
  • Prioritisation skills to handle multiple responsibilities.
