About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Operational Risk Manager to join our Global Services Group Control Management Governance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for establishing the Operational Risk and Controls strategy for Global Services Group, ensuring operational risks are identified, assessed, and managed in compliance with enterprise Operational Risk Management programs and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise on Execution Plans: Provide guidance on operational risk management within the business unit, including the development of BU-specific guidelines, project plans, and execution strategies.
  • Track and Identify Issues: Monitor Key Risk Indicator (KRI) limits and risk appetite for Global Services Group to ensure operational risks are managed within agreed thresholds. Identify emerging problems and escalate concerns accordingly.
  • Develop Operational Risk Framework: Support the development of the operational risk framework to enable effective risk management and decision-making in the BU.
  • Manage Risk Governance Forums: Manage the details of specific risk and controls governance forums for Global Services Group, interfacing with org-wide governance processes and committees.
  • Develop BU-Specific Procedures: Provide support to develop BU-specific procedures and additional standards related to the execution of the Operational Risk Management programs.
  • Facilitate Risk Governance: Facilitate the understanding and use of the risk governance framework across BUs through regular communication.
  • Manage Exam Processes: Facilitate the day-to-day internal and external exam management process, working with Enterprise functions.
  • Aggregate Reporting: Aggregate reporting, approvals, and exceptions for the BU.
  • Administer Training Initiatives: Administer the implementation of key areas training initiatives that align with Operational Risk Management.
  • Monitor Regulatory Changes: Facilitate processes to ensure and monitor the integration of regulatory changes and updates into the Operational Risk framework and training materials.
Requirements
  • 3+ Years of Experience: 3+ years of experience in operational risk management, including understanding of critical operational risk management lifecycle activities.
  • Strong Project Management Skills: Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Process Governance Experience: Experience in process governance, with an understanding of processes that align with policies, regulatory frameworks, and/or operational standards.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or related field; advanced degrees or certifications are advantageous.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in at least one of the following areas: translating operational risk strategy and appetite into execution guidelines, tracking and identifying issues with KRI limits and risk appetite, overseeing the implementation of operational risk governance frameworks, communicating and ensuring understanding and adherence to operational risk procedures and standards, facilitating the operational risk exam management processes, or experience in the financial services industry.
