Job Title: Electrical Automation Technician

Location: Washington, Tyne & Wear

Salary: £42,132 (plus shift allowance where applicable)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Automation Technician to join our Automation Control team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing technical support to existing systems, modifying PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems, and documenting amendments in line with BMS requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical support to existing systems to support operations
  2. Modify PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems, and document amendments in line with BMS requirements
  3. Update/upgrade existing control systems and modify existing processes to add new functionality
  4. Perform planning maintenance activities and maintain system backups
  5. Respond to breakdowns and complete breakdown reports to support maintenance in the creation of Planned Predictive Maintenance plans
  6. Provide support to the roll out of security-driven changes, and act as a liaison between operations and security teams
  7. Work within high standards of Health and Safety, whilst ensuring the quality of the product is maintained
  8. Lead and support Continuous Improvement activities and initiatives

Requirements:

We are looking for an individual with a time-served Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or similar) Apprenticeship, and experience and demonstrated knowledge of programming PMC, and HMI systems. Proficiency and ability to programme robotic systems, and background in working with automated manufacturing processes are also essential.
