About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled KS4 English specialist to join our team in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in East London. This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on students who thrive with consistent, structured, and empathetic teaching.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement a robust and engaging English curriculum that meets the diverse learning needs of KS4 students.
  2. Deliver high-quality English lessons that inspire and motivate students, fostering a love for English.
  3. Collaborate with a dedicated team of educators, support staff, and SEN specialists to create a consistent and supportive learning environment.
  4. Manage challenging behaviour effectively, promoting a positive and focused classroom environment.
  5. Monitor and assess students' progress, providing individualised feedback and support to help them achieve academic and personal growth.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with significant experience teaching English at KS4 level.
  • Strong curriculum development experience, with a proven track record of planning and delivering engaging schemes of work.
  • Extensive experience in behaviour management, ideally within a PRU, SEND, or SEMH setting.
  • A resilient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with students facing barriers to learning.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external agencies.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people and helping them achieve their potential despite challenges.
