About the Company: Our client is a leading specialist in intelligent drive technology and systems, serving diverse industries such as oil and gas, energy, mining, ship technology, rail, and commercial vehicles.
About the Role:
- Key front-line technical role on all production-related issues.
- Focus on issues relating to production and how the product will be overhauled or repaired as required.
- Creation/updating of Overhaul Instructions and Work Instructions to detail how to achieve the end requirement.
- Creation/updating of Technical Job Packs for capturing the tasks carried out and decisions made in each job.
- Development of tooling and procedures to optimize strip down, cleaning, painting, and assembly tasks in a safe and consistent manner.
- Design, test, and equipment interfaces such as adaptor plates and asset mounting devices in support of production.
- Write test specifications for product testing and for programming of the specific test equipment.
- Day-to-day support for projects in the startup phase prior to first-article inspection and then supporting optimization of the process for serial production.
- Liaise with production management, production control, project management, and engineering functions as required to deliver the tools and processes to achieve the required production process.
- Continually review the project-specific production process to establish best practice and eliminate wastefulness relating to time, tooling, and materials.
- Lead/support continuous improvement activities with workshop teams utilizing the lean production toolkit.
- Perform other production-related functions broadly consistent with the role when required.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, although other qualifications (e.g., HNC/HND) considered with significant practical experience.
- Overhaul and repair experience would be ideal.
- Good practical engineering approach.
- CAD skills.
- Microsoft Office suite technical documentation skills key to the role.
- Fluent technical and conversational English.
- Good communication skills on a technical level with both internal and external customers.
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary range of £40,000 to £50,000 depending on experience.
- Hours: Monday to Thursday, 08:30 to 16:30, and Friday, 08:30 to 15:30, a 36.5-hour week.
