Senior Controls & Automation Engineer

We are working with a leading Machines Manufacturer based in West Sussex, UK, to recruit a Senior Controls & Automation Engineer to join their team.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for working alongside the engineering team on existing and new products in the filling and packaging industry, with a focus on customer and aftersales technical support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist customers and service engineers with technical queries via email and remote access.
  • Travel to customer sites UK and occasionally worldwide for breakdowns, software modifications, and customer training.
  • Create electrical BOMs using Microsoft Navision.
  • Design electrical drawings using AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Design new PLC and HMI software and modify existing software.
  • Commissioning and testing machines in the factory in preparation for FATs.
  • Write operation and maintenance manuals.
Requirements
  • Electrical and software design experience.
  • AutoCAD experience (ideally AutoCAD Electrical).
  • PLC and HMI writing experience in any of the following: Strong technical document writing skills using Microsoft Office products.
  • Eligible to work in the UK and travel worldwide.
  • Full UK driving licence or equivalent.
