Vice President, Portfolio Analytics and Reporting Specialist

Oaktree Capital Management is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President to join our Reporting & Performance department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, technology-enabled analyses and reporting to our investors and portfolio management professionals globally.
Key Responsibilities- Analysis & Reporting
- Develop in-depth analyses and reports related to our portfolios and positions across different strategies on a recurring and ad-hoc basis.
- Independently lead and respond to quantitative inquiries related to strategic and capital raising initiatives, leveraging existing reports and developing bespoke analyses to ensure efficient, timely, and successful completion.
- Master our in-house system technology to learn to source data and create new data extracts to efficiently respond to data requests.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on the assigned strategies and resource to organizational partners.
- Technology Enablement
- Utilize Python, SQL, and/or data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) to manage and manipulate large data sets, and create standardized reports or dashboards.
- Lead the implementation of process changes, automated reports, and technology systems to generate standard and recurring investor reporting as well as dynamic performance and portfolio metrics and insights.
- Leverage reporting and systems knowledge to gather and document implementation requirements.
- Partnership & Innovation
- Collaborate with organizational partners to produce and advance R&P deliverables, who include: Investment/Portfolio Management, Product Specialists, Investor Relations, Marketing and business development, Accounting, IT, and Compliance.
- Evolve strategy and portfolio reporting suite in response to, and in anticipation of, new strategies, investor needs, and industry trends.
- Identify and execute on team-wide and strategy-level tactical projects through collaboration with other team members and key stakeholders.
- 10+ years of experience at an institutional investor asset management company, investment bank, or other financial services company.
- Deep knowledge of alternative investments broadly as well as specific knowledge of relevant reporting/dashboard outputs and metrics including performance reporting, risk metrics, and portfolio characteristics.
- Experience utilizing Python, SQL, and/or data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to work cross-functionally and at all levels internally.
- Basic understanding of project management software such as Jira, Confluence a plus.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and concepts.
- Highly motivated to succeed and to foster success of his/her teammates.
- Outstanding initiative, ability to operate independently, and a strong work ethic.
- Forward-thinking, creative, and flexible to independently balance multiple short- and long-term deliverables simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- A self-starter who originates ideas and identifies and captures opportunities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to leverage firm-wide resources in an effective and judicious manner.
- Detail-oriented and a natural problem solver; have the resolve to independently research problems and offer solutions.
- Ability to lead team members throughout the R&P organization, serving as a change agent with a focus on innovation.
- Strong integrity and professionalism, and share Oaktree's common goal of excellence.
- Passion for improving systems and processes.
Bachelor's degree required. CFA and/or ACA a plus.
