Hywel Dda University Health Board is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to lead our team providing specialist community psychiatric care to people with intellectual disabilities in Pembrokeshire. As a Senior Medical Director, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective strategies to address health inequalities for people with learning disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and management to the Community Team for Learning Disabilities, ensuring high-quality patient care and promoting a culture of excellence.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with multi-disciplinary teams, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Collaborate with academics from partner universities to develop research activities and support teaching programs for medical students and junior doctors.
- Participate in clinical governance and audit initiatives to drive quality improvement and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Hywel Dda University Health Board is the primary provider of NHS healthcare services for over 384,000 people across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, and Pembrokeshire. Requirements:
- Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (FRCPsych) or equivalent qualification.
- Full GMC Registration and License to Practice.
- Valid Certified Advanced Life Support Skills.
- At least 3 years of post-qualification experience in adult psychiatry, including sub-specialty experience in intellectual disability psychiatry.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
