About the Role
As a Cafe Manager at Tesco, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of one of our cafes. With a passion for customer service and proven people management skills, you will take charge of a friendly team and ensure that every customer has a great experience. You will be responsible for managing the cafe's routines, processes, sales standards, and changes, as well as holding full profit and loss accountability for the cafe. You will also be responsible for leading your team and inspiring them to hit sales targets, understanding the key drivers of our service plan, and delivering to the standard required. Additionally, you will select, train, and develop team members to enable them to feel proud of the work they do.

You Will Be Responsible For

  1. Overseeing the overall running of the cafe, including routines, processes, sales standards, and changes, where necessary.
  2. Holding full profit and loss accountability for the cafe.
  3. Maximising sales, impact, and presentation in the cafe, and ensuring everything is safe and legal for customers and colleagues.
  4. Leading your team and inspiring them to hit sales targets.
  5. Understanding the key drivers of our service plan and delivering to the standard required.
  6. Selecting, training, and developing team members to enable them to feel proud of the work they do.
  7. Acting as a cafe menu expert who can share knowledge with the team.
  8. Ensuring customers are served quickly and that they receive high-quality food and drinks in a clean, tidy environment.


You Will Need

  1. A background in hospitality, at supervisory level and above.
  2. A commitment to excellent customer service.
  3. People management skills that allow you to lead by example and coach in an inclusive manner.
  4. Good planning and organisation skills.
  5. Confidence using your initiative to identify opportunities to improve our ways of working or adapt to different situations.
  6. Excellent communication skills to motivate and support a growing team.
