Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a Trade Union Education Specialist to join the Trafford and Stockport College Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for training groups of Trade Union Representatives, with a focus on Health and Safety representatives.

About the Role

The role involves teaching weekly modules on the Functions of a Trade Union Health and Safety Representative (H&S). This unique position requires sharing knowledge and understanding of H&S legislation, as well as supporting learners in understanding their role and gaining confidence in taking H&S matters to employers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support learners in understanding the role of the H&S Rep and sharing thorough knowledge of H&S legislation required to fulfill the reps role.
  • Potential to work across other courses within the overall Trade Union Education team.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Considerable practical experience working as a H&S representative.
  • Relevant Teaching (Cert Ed) and H&S qualifications (TUC Dip OHS or Nebosh).
  • Ideal membership of a relevant professional organisation (IOSH).
