English Teacher Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated English Teacher to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a special school setting. As a SEND English Educator, you will deliver engaging and accessible English lessons, tailored to the unique needs of your students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver creative English lessons for students with SEN, using a range of teaching strategies and approaches to literacy.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and support staff to ensure student engagement and progress.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, making adjustments to teaching strategies as necessary.
  • Foster a positive learning environment where students feel supported in their development and well-being.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to provide holistic support for students.
  • Contribute to the school's initiatives aimed at improving student outcomes and well-being.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience teaching English to SEN students is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of SEND teaching strategies and approaches to literacy.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage students, staff, and parents.
  • A relevant teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS).
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
