About the Role

We are seeking an Associate Fire Engineer to join our national practice of Building Design professionals. This role will involve delivering fire engineering design solutions to clients across various sectors, including Cities & Development, Commercial, Energy, Residential and Transportation.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with senior team members to develop the team and strengthen technical capability.

  • Work on projects in a range of sectors, from residential buildings to rail transportation and new energy facilities.
  • Manage multiple engineering projects from inception through to delivery in support of fire safety standards and codes.
  • Support junior team members and contribute to the development of fire strategies.
  • Assess fire-related risks in projects and work collaboratively to mitigate them.
  • Review and comment on the quality of fire safety related installations.
Requirements
  • An engineering degree, preferably in fire engineering or a postgraduate qualification in fire engineering.
  • Experience in fire engineering roles, including those outside of consultancy.
  • Strong experience working with multiple fire standards, including BS9999, NFPA 130, BS9992 and EN45545.
  • A strong record of successfully delivering fire strategies.
  • Fire modelling experience is beneficial.
  • Working towards chartered fire engineer status.
  • A flexible approach to the working environment.
  • Willingness to travel is a positive advantage.
