About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Housing Specialist to join our team at Barnardo's. As a Housing Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting Care Experienced Young People in achieving their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on housing options for Care Experienced Young People.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local authorities, housing providers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless support for our young people.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify the housing needs of our young people and develop personalized support plans.
  • Work closely with our team to ensure holistic, early, and effective planning for our young people, engaging other services as needed to prevent concerns from escalating.
  • Ensure our young people are living in suitable accommodation and are well-prepared for independent living.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of our housing support services, making recommendations for improvement.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of housing options for Care Experienced Young People.
  • Knowledge of local and national housing procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
