About the Role

We are seeking an experienced M&E Project Planner to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment. As a key member of our Commercial and Contracts departments, you will be responsible for managing projects ranging in value from £1M to £20M.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to manage projects from pre-construction to delivery and commissioning.
  • Develop strategic programmes for each phase of projects, including pre-construction, delivery, and commissioning.
  • Liaise with the Estimating Department to assess programme-related tender documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Department on subcontract packages.
  • Work with site-based teams to update programmes based on true progress.
  • Attend client programme meetings as required.
  • Undertake risk analysis of live programmes to support the Commercial and Operations teams.
  • Review implications of programme change or slippage and create recovery programmes as necessary.
  • Prepare monthly Programme Performance Reports for review with Senior Management.
Requirements
  • Third-level qualification in a construction-related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role, preferably within the M&E sector.
  • Commercially astute with high standards of organisational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Programme Software, such as Microsoft Project, or similar.
  • High level of IT literacy, especially in Microsoft Packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and client engagement skills.
