About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ecologist to join our team as a Senior Ecologist. As a Senior Ecologist, you will be responsible for leading ecological surveys, producing high-quality reports, and providing expert advice to clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead ecological surveys and produce high-quality reports, including habitat and species surveys.
  • Provide expert advice to clients on ecological matters, including habitat and species conservation.
  • Develop and implement ecological mitigation strategies to minimize the impact of development on the environment.
  • Collaborate with other team members to deliver projects and achieve client objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation and regulations, including the UK planning system.
Requirements
  • Good knowledge of relevant environmental legislation.
  • Experience of leading ecological surveys and producing high-quality reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English to a range of audiences.
  • Capable of producing clear and concise written documents fit for the desired purpose.
  • Highly organized and able to work efficiently and effectively to deadlines on designated tasks.
  • Proficient user of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and ArcGIS or QGIS.
  • Full clean UK driving licence, willingness to undertake surveys at unsociable hours, and flexibility to allow occasional working away from home.
  • Protected species licence(s), in particular experience of named ecologist on European Protected Species Mitigation Licence(s).
