Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a pupil who has Additional Learning Needs (ALN) in a mainstream classroom. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the pupil's growth and development, fostering a positive and encouraging environment, and engaging with the pupil in every task to ensure they stay engaged and learn.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the class teacher and other teaching assistants to effectively assist the pupil and contribute to the overall positive learning environment.
  • Understand and engage with the pupil in every task, ensuring they stay engaged and learn.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging environment, actively supporting the growth and development of the pupil.

Requirements:

  • To be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
  • Hold a Child only DBS certificate that is registered on the Update System.
  • Provide 2 professional references covering 24 months.
  • To be strong and resilient when facing challenging behaviour.

About the Role:

This is a temporary position, with the option to make it permanent at a later date. Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance 'Keeping Children Safe in Education'. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
